Agatha |
Photographer |
Klauer of Louisiana, MO |
City |
Buffalo |
County |
Pike MO |
State |
MO |
Price |
$5.00 (plus $4.00 postage and handling) |
Notes: I bought an adorable baby photo identified as Agatha McElwee. I believe this Agatha McElwee, born b. Jan 1900, the daughter of Charles and Eliza Bryson McElwee, the sister of Margaret McElwee Spears, Bryson McElwee, and William McElwee. I found the family enumerated in the 1900 Census in Buffalo, Pike Cty, MO living at 1306 Georgia St. Chas, age 37, is a clerk at a grocery store, Eliza, age 33, is a housekeeper, and children are Agatha, age 10, Margaret, age 7, Bryson, age 2.
Many of the members of this family worked for Stark Brothers Nursery.
I find Agatha in the 1920 Census listed as a power machine operator living in Portland, Multnomah Cty, Oregon. She is living with Lester and Lucille Dressler. Lester is a cashier for the telephone company. They have a newborn daughter Maralyn Dressler. I'm not sure why Agatha would be so far from hom.
Agatha is again back with her family in the 1930 Census living in Buffalo, Pike Cty, MO.
I have the obit for her sister Margaret who died in 1999 at age 96 at the Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana, MO.
I am not related. If you have an interest in this photo, please contact me.
